Disappearing Discord Video, Aug 9, 2022 · One of my friends sent me a link of a webm file that would disappear for a moment before reappearing on discord. The Discord client doesn't have measures in its video player widget to prevent resizing due to frame size inconsistency in the webm file, thus resulting in a video that constantly changes size visually. When I open the app on my phone the link and even the preview square pop in and out flickering for a second before disappearing. I can imagine that the person that originally did this thought: "Hmmm, Discord has dynamic viewports based on image/video size, right?" and they probably had a prior experience with resizing webm, or they considered "what if I could dynamically change the video size", and went from there.
